BusyBusyBuilding

So for Jeff's long weekend he decided we should build Elli and Dameian's playground, which we half way had up..I thought.. So first the big yellow slide had to come down cause Jeff redesigned it all...now its going back up and so is everthing else that was piled up in the yard waiting for us to have a long weekend that wasn't raining. So if you drove down 86th st and noticed the big yellow slide missing..it will be back soon, don't worry.

Jeff got the frame of the main structure built Friday
and we set it up Friday evening. Looks kinda plain...

The kids were over joyed!

We spent most of Saturday getting the top of the yellow slide up
IT WAS HEAVY
got the first section of slide attached and went for a swim and then to bed.
Sunday came and the wind blew very hard alllll day
This makes lifting awkard heavy slide pieces difficult so we worked on the fire truck and "space pod"
We were smart and built ramps to push the pieces up into their spots cause the fire truck is heavier than the slide pieces.

Yay red space pod thing... lol not sure what its called but its got little steering wheels inside for the kids.
Had to take off the fire trucks front wheel to get it up the ramp - tomorrows project will be getting it back on.

Ta Da Fire truck in the air!
It shades the steps nicely.

Today wore us out and my garden kept distracting me, so we stopped building and put up some of the screens on the tower to keep little ones from jumping off, and got the tic tac toe board put on the middle level.
I also planted some grass seed...exciting  : )
So if the winds die down tomorrow we will attempt to put the rest of the yellow slide up, Jeff still needs to decide where he is putting Elli's see saw ~ she told him she wants 3 of them I think he is only gonna give her one.. poor girl.

So the yellow slide was very difficult to lift, and the blue slide goes 6 foot higher..ahhh so were debating if we should even try and put it up mostly cause were not sure how were gonna get it that high. So its either gonna be figure out how to get the blue slide up, put the train where the blue slide would go on the third level, or just leave it as a walk way/platform type thing and not put anything up there. Suppose we'll see.

And if you were wondering.. no I still have not finished Elli's room, I have not decided if I want to paint a white picket fence and flowers or just flowers, I think just flowers would look odd, but the fence will take alot of time which I never seem to have any free of. Plus I went to Hobby Lobby with Robyn this week which gave me more ideas of flowers I could do so I need to get them made..ahh to do list a mile long.

Bed time now  yay!!!

Blue skies

Getting the blue started in Elli's room.
Of course you always have to paint a happy face on
walls when you are painting.

Lookin good! all the easy painting is done ~ now time for the details.

Still got some work do do on the shelves, i think ill paint the back of the
shelves blue and give the shelves and nice fresh coat of white

My two wonderful helpers.
I dont have much to write with this one.. had a good mothers day weekend, sat went and built flower vases at lowes then worked around the house some and watched movies. Sunday slept in made cinnamon rolls and painted Elli's room while  Jeff did laundry :) :) :) then went out back to grill some dinner and get the kids pool ready for the hot days coming up, and then went to bed early. fun fun now if i could just make every weekend that relaxing.

the hills

So last night was Jeff's last night at school for this semester...so therefore my last night to do whatever i wanted around the house without him bothering me! And his two hour test only took him an hour so i didnt have as much fun time as i thought i would. oh well.. it was a successfull evening though, started off with a little laundry and lasagna for dinner followed by strawberry shortcake dessert ~ then moved up stairs to start painting Elli's room, i think it took longer to move all her stuff out of her room than it did to paint the green.

the hill in the corner between the window and desk area casued me lots of trouble

next will be the blue sky and the white fence and flowers

Started with some bright green rolling hills... yes i know some are a little pointy but its hard to make good hills with a paint roller and two kids bugging to help. I plan on smoothing them out better with I paint the blue, its darker so it should cover up the little edges of green pretty well. So im gonna give it a day of dry time and then maybe start in on the blue this weekend if i feel up to it, got alot of garden work to do also. Elli was very excited about the color she kept says wow mom it looks so amazing :) hopefully she likes it when its done too!

Elli informed me we needed to paint Dameians room blue again because she doesnt like his fishes anymore and i need to start over... uh i dont think so miss elli, those took momma a LONG time to paint and outline and i think ill call his room good till hes older and can say he doesnt like it anymore - lol, although i have seen some really cute ideas for car and train boys rooms...tempting.

pictures and frames

So since Im all over the place with my projects ~ Im gonna start another one, well finish one I started a year or so ago. I have a big stack of picture frames and no pictures to go in them and most I have already got painted and ready to be hung. So my start to my project was to go through allllll the pictures on my computer and my moms and pic out some to print...go to the store and print some, accomplished yesterday.. and yeah i printed alot, Some are from when dameian was born and i never got around to getting anything printed. I do think now i need to go purchase some 5*7 and 4*6 mattes for the frames cause most are 8*10 and i think i only printed 6 of those cause they are sorta expensive, and i wanna try and find some collage frames for all the small pics i printed. And maybe just maybe tonight Ill dig the frames out of the garage, storage shed, and craft room and get some hung up since our halls and stair way are kinda bare. Hopefully if all goes oh so wonderfully well I'll even get my very own camera in the near furture so I can take pics of the kids all the time not just at family things where I borrow Mark and Robyn's cameras or my moms.

Im thinking maybe paint this weekend in Elli's room, was gonna start with the green last Sunday but it was cold and rainy so we just laid around all day and watched TV and opened Easter eggs ~ didnt even bother hiding them, plus me and Jeff had homework to do that day too so it was better not to start cause I wouldnt be able to stop till it was done and would have taken awhile. Next week is finals so Ill need a break from studying and painting can be my outlet :) so maybe if i get the pictures in the frames and the frames hung tonight ill paint some on saturday.

i need to work on shoveling the big pile of mud in the yard into my garden so i can get it all ready to plant some plants before its too too late, maybe by the time im finished everywhere will have veggie plants on clearance ~ lol and i got some strawberry plants that need to get planted... so much to do so much to do.

Dameians CHOO CHOO 2nd Birthday!

Today is my sweet little Dameian's 2nd Birthday!
two years and three hours ago he was born- its hard to believe it's been that long already.

My lil minis look so BIG!

Dameian picked a train birthday party and after 3 wal marts and a target we found the plates he wanted, the wrapping paper  and gift bags mommy wanted, awesome candles and lots of balloons!

Present shopping took more effort than that, shopping for a boy that doesn't say much is alot more difficult than shopping for Elli who tells you what she wants.

Trains, toy cars, airplanes, a bubble machine, and a fun tool set made his day.

Everyone thought the train cake was delicious too!

Luckly we had leftovers to eat for breakfast this week :)

Mom and Elli had fun decorating all the train cars.

The weather cooperated nicely to allow for some fun bubble time and popsicles outside!

New Project

So  my new project is my little artists room, hopefully she likes my work and leaves it alone. First attempt to buy  green viridescent and smooth southern sea blue paint was a failure , so instead i took everything off her walls and washed them and patched holes. second attempt to buy paint was a half failure so i have a can of blue and a can of country white. So tonight while Jeffrey is off test taking at school me and the kids will sand down the patches and apply a country white base coat ~ hopefully hiding her art work. My goal is to have this done by Saturday but Im not sure Im that quick, espicially since Wal Mart is not cooperating with my paint buying attempts.
this dresser may get a paint job too.. this summer.. when im not so busy and can bust out the new sander i bought a few weeks ago.

Havent decided how to paint the shelves. desk yet? Im gonna paint the rest of the room, leave this white and see where to go from there.
i may even get really crafty and creative and recover her chairs since she has covered them in chocolate syrup and the diaper rash cream... which does not wash out and wonderfully holds the chocolate stains in.
So wish me luck at the BA wal mart in my third attempt to buy paint, maybe this time i'll come home with a gallon of green :)
